Stop Bush's Warrantless WiretappingI am one of the 73% of Americans who oppose George Bush's warrantless wiretapping of American citizens in violation of the Fourth Amendment and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (FISA):http://www.democrats.com/wiretap-poll-1 I am outraged that George Bush admits he broke the FISA law at least 30 times by authorizing activities that were illegal - yet Congress has done nothing to stop Bush's crimes or hold him accountable. I therefore demand the following: (1) Defeat of any legislation to legalize warrantless wiretapping or give immunity to telephone companies or Bush Administration officials who participated in the illegal wiretapping of American citizens. Senators must support Chris Dodd's filibuster of the Rockefeller wiretap immunity bill. (2) Impeachment of George Bush for violating the Fourth Amendment and FISA over 30 times and for falsely terrorizing Congress into passing the Protect America Act in August 2007. (3) Criminal prosecution of George Bush, Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, and everyone else who committed these crimes. More InformationBy a 73%-22% margin, Americans overwhelmingly oppose George Bush's efforts to wiretap Americans' phone calls and emails without a search warrant, according to a Democrats.com telephone poll of 1,006 adults conducted by ICR from August 8-12, 2007.

Petition InstructionsThank you for taking a stand on this important issue! Our petition system (created by The People's Email Network) will deliver the message on the left directly to your two U.S. Senators and one Representative, and you will see their names after you press submit. We request your address so (a) we can identify your Representatives; (b) your Representatives can verify that you live in their district; (c) your Representatives can send you a reply. If you are a U.S. citizen living abroad, use your U.S. voting address (usually your last U.S. address even if you no longer get mail there.) Sections (2) and (3) are purely optional. We hope you'll use (3) to tell your friends because the more people who sign our petitions, the more Congress will listen to us. You should expect a reply from your Representatives by email or snail mail. If you do not, call their office at 202-225-3121 and ask why they have not responded to your constituent email.
