Senate passes FISA, fourth amendment is toast

Are you really suprised?
I'm not. With the passage of this bill the democrats in office have proved one thing to me again; there is no real difference, in most cases, between the parties any more. The majority of elected federal offices are filled with elitists that will tell the people almost anything to get elected and once they are in office will vote the elitist agendas no matter the party they belong to, or the will of the people.
I hate to think it, but I'm almost to the point of saying it's time for a new revolution of the people, as it may be the only way to get OUR COUNTRY back and return power to the citizens of this once great nation. As a wise man once said" Those willing to give up some freedom in exchange for security, deserve neither security, nor freedom" ( slight misquote maybe, but thats the gist of it ) The problem is most people are so brain washed by the corporate media that they don't have a clue or they are more concerned about which new big screen plasma tv to buy, than paying attention to the selling out of our country to the corporate elitists.
I'm sure this post will raise some flags in the intell programs and wouldn't' be surprised if the thought police show up at my door to confiscate my computer. How far away are we from Orwell's thought police, Bradbury's firemen, or Hitlers brown shirts? Laugh all the way to gitmo while calling me a conspiracy crackpot if you like!!! WE ARE ONLY 1 MORE ATTACK WITHIN OUR BORDERS FROM MARTIAL LAW AND A SUSPENSION OF ALL CIVIL LIBERTIES, INCLUDING ELECTIONS, compliments of the various HOMELAND SECURITY ACTS that our ELECTED OFFICIALS have passed and are passing to destroy the Constitution and Bill of Rights. You can't "Vote For Change" if the elections are "suspended" due to national emergency and imposition of "temporary emergency measures" available to the president under the HSA. We are being sold out by the members of both parties. Or should I say the members of the plutocratic party???
Do it yourself...
Revolution? Sure. I'm all for it. The problem we have is the same the hippies had back in the sixties--are you willing to die for your beliefs? This really matters because there are people who will kill you to keep things the way they are. The american people need to want liberty more than they want to stay fat and happy. I give this country four more years. If things haven't started to turn around by then, I'm going to expatriate.
A really good way to reform things is to remove 'personhood' from corporations, or penalize them like we penalize people. I mean a count of fraud is punished by 3-5 years as a non-profit, with stockholders being able to sue the boardmembers for lost profits.
Note that denying a corporation personhood denies them the right to lobby, doesn't it?
The US is not a democracy. It is a capitalist country, willing to kill people so that our business intrests can continue to operate. End of story.
Actually...
...every place on earth is, and has always been, a continual struggle:
What about Genghis Khan?
What of the Nazis?
What of the tens of millions of Native Americans killed?
Etc.

Have you been raped yet?
Watched your child be skewered?
Been to War?
A slave?

There is never a time when anything remotely "clean" occurs. Where a decent leader is simply praised. It's always a mess, and we are always required to persevere --- FOREVER.
Perhaps it's a pathology of consumerism that folks give thought to simply buying into another brand (i.e. Nation) when things go from bad to worse in one's parent country.
As to Capitalism: there is American Capitalism which balances the MOB and the MONARCH quite nicely and there is Right Wing, demonstrably false "Capitalism," which Capitalists themselves do NOT practice. (Though they do tell others to in order to make gains for themselves).

So, rather than fight for what's right, you would turn and run? Well, I hope you run before the revolution comes so you don't get in the way of some REAL AMERICAN trying to stand up for his rights and the rights of others. Thank God there weren't more like you around when our forefathers birthed this once great nation.
Where you gonna run to? The corporate Elite know no borders. If you haven't figured that out by now, I suggest you do some research. Just where do you think the World Bank doesn't own the media, financial institutions, or the government??
Go smoke some more weed,(I'm not anti- pot,but get real) Mr420, and dream nice dreams about a utopia somewhere that there are no corporations, banks or governments owned by the Elites. The rest of us have to live in the real world.
p.s.
People get the government they deserve!!!!
SEN. FEINGOLD: A DARK HOUR
SEN. FEINGOLD: A DARK HOUR IN AMERICA!
Nick Langewis and David Edwards
Published: Wednesday July 9, 2008
The legislation is a "catastrophe," Feingold lamented, and it "needs to be fixed at some point."
"This is a sad moment," he said. "It really is a black mark, not only on the Democrats, but on the Congress and really the history of our country.
And the same thing, Rachel, happened with regard to the PATRIOT Act, when we tried to fix it after it had been passed in a flawed way. There was this period of strength where Democrats held firm, and then they collapsed; and the same thing happened again here.
This administration, despite its weakness, somehow is able to raise the specter of being, as they say, 'soft on terrorism,' and unfortunately, Democrats, who can be so strong on domestic issues, somehow collapse.
And that's exactly what happened. This is a terrible piece of legislation. It's one of the greatest assaults on the Constitution, I think, in the history of our country. We are going to have to fix it, but it is a dark hour for the Constitution."

A victory for the Bush Police State
By Michael J.W. Stickings
Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good, but, in this case, or, rather, with these cases, the bad, which is truly awful, far outweighs the good, a qualified good at most.
George W. Bush and his administration of Constitution-shredding warmongers are, as you should know, turning the United States into a police state. How they are doing this has been a matter of great discussion among critics of what they have done: domestic surveillance, extra-legal detentions, the consolidation of executive power over the legislative and the judicial, the creation and exploitation of a culture of fear, the vilification of the Other, etc.
And they won a major victory today, with the judiciary backing the executive (which was supported by submissive legislature). As a result, the United States is even more of a police state today than it was yesterday. The NYT has the details:
"This decision means the president can pick up any person in the country -- citizen or legal resident -- and lock them up for years without the most basic safeguard in the Constitution, the right to a criminal trial."
Welcome to the Bush Police State, the new America.
