Saw Scott Ritter in KC,MOHeard Scott Ritter speak Saturday evening, even got to shake hands and thank him! Once in awhile a Great Soul comes to KC, MO. Wow, I am so impressed! What a great speaker!! He embodies Truth to Power. Riveting! Coming from anything but an anti-war progressive background, a Marine tried and true, former head of weapons inspection in Iraq. OMG, he was front and center to see that there were no WMD's, and the gov wasted 12 billion tax dollars sending them on a mission to hunt for WMD's they later admitted they knew were not there. Yikes! He saw the fraud first hand and is committed to defending the Constitution by getting out there and informing and inspiring grassroots from progressives to conservatives, changing the consciousness of one group at a time across the country. He remains optimistic, as I do, the cycle for positive change is upon us. He supports Obama and encourages us to support all democrat progressives, and to get involved and encourages us to step up and take the power the People have to make change happen! He confirms so much of what I believed to be true, but didn't know the details -- he's a brilliant speaker -- wow, if he comes to your town, go see him! His personal story is fascinating and he is 100 per cent committed to defending the Constitution of the United States. Can you tell I was inspired. I mentioned Democrats.com to him. He said he hadn't heard of it, but now he has! :-) He also was promoting his book, "Target Iran: The Truth About the White House's Plans for Regime Change."

saw Ritter in Columbia, MO --
Yes, he is a good speaker, and yes he is clearly NOT from a left/progressive political background. (That's OK) He is on a book tour on his concerns about the planning for an attack on Iran. I didn't hear him address that...didn't get there for the start of his talk. But the big thing I got from him is that he emphasized that the problem with the irresponsibility of U.S. foreign and domestic policies rests right at the doorstep of the American people. he talked about so many Americans simply accepting what is spoon fed them from the media...people who watch TV "news" and think that is what is really happening in the world.
Unfortunately, his audience was mostly people who knew what he was saying anyway. It was a predominantly 40's and older group, with quite a few of the Vietnam war era...I was disappointed in that. He was preaching to the choir. somehow what he and others like him is saying has to get out to the wider audience...excuse the term, but it has to get out to the "dittoheads" And believe me, in outstate Missouri they are definite majority.
Did you hear him
tell the story of how he got booked on a cruise ship where his audience was a very conservative group, and how after his talk he had them eating out of his hand, hanging on to every word, changing their minds -- so, he seems to have the capability of communicating to conservative types. Yes, it would be good to get him into more of these types of audiences. I was so inspired particularly because of his conservative military background, and of course because of his expertise and first hand experience-- being in a position to see and know, and now having the courage and integrity to speak out and inform pretty much anyone who will listen.
Our audience did seem to be filled with men with long hair and full beards as well as many older women who seemed to be in their 60's and 70's. Don't underestimate the power of the little old retired ladies who spend alot of time surfing progressive internet sites!! :-) There were some from the younger generation, but it was mostly sponsored and advertised by KKFI, which is our community radio station that has pretty much all alternative programs.
