Kos is a KowardKos pretends to be oh so brave.
So why is Kourageous Kos afraid to support the impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney? We've personally invited him to join ImpeachPAC's Citizens Impeachment Commission several times in the past month - Hey Kos - why are you afraid of impeaching a man who has already admitted committing an impeachable crime - more than 30 times? Here are Kos's Kowardly Kousins from the biggest liberal blogs:
How many impeachable crimes will Bush and Cheney have to commit - even confess to - before Kos & Kompany are willing to publicly demand their impeachment? Update: On 1/5/06, Kos declined to participate without offering a reason. (If you know him, feel free to ask him why and let me know.) I'm still waiting for replies from his Kousins.

shouldn't we discuss who would replace Bush?
it seems that unless we figure out how to fill the leadership vacuum then all hell will break loose when we create a leadership vacuum.
What leadership vacuum
can we 'create?' There's one now.
and has been since 2000.....

Daily Kos...[Kos]..
maybe we need to get the 'Scoop' on the Kos ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Kos
KOS run by MarKOS Zuniga [former Vet -U.S. Army]...
I know that the 'Scoop' platform for the KOS site isn't like other 'liberal and/or progressive blogs'...they [KOS] have contributed to many candidates [Dems that lost]...then had highly negative opinions at one point; and took flack from critics regarding those comments...
I know that the KOS site allows 'conservatives' to post and claims to be a Liberal/Progressive for Democrats site; so I don't believe they [KOS] would support a real 'Democrat endeavor';
is Mr. Zuniga simply trying to succeed at a 'political presence' rather than one that makes a difference.
'Scoop' on Kos
Kos is a tremendous Democratic blogger and I agree with him on virtually every issue.
The question here is one of strategy, not principle.
Of course we're going to get slammed by the Busheviks for advocating impeachment.
But if we fear them, they will always win.
We must impeach Bush and Cheney because their crimes demand it, even if we get slammed by our political opponents and the MSM.
Because it's the right thing to do
that's why they should be impeached, IMHO. We are a nation of laws. If that makes me fringe, so be it.
wow
Did you really delete my previous post just because I defended Kos? I even did it while tipping my hat to you. I was hardly flaming or trolling.
Thats...amazing. Disappointing. No doubt this post will be short-lived too. I'm really blown away that you'd run things here like that. Guess I wont be back. I feel like an era has passed...
He didn't remove it
a moderator did. We have those here, and we're volunteers. Some of us are more temperamental than others when it comes to a visitor coming to Bob's house and soiling the carpet.
I'm more patient - what's your beef?
thanks for putting it back
Now that its there for the world to see, I have a hard time imagining how you could refer to the post as "soiling the carpet."
I'm curious -- what do you (and others) find so objectionable about the post that it either merited banning, walked the line near banning, or was "soiling the carpet" in Bob's house?
Was there a better way to express my surprise-distaste-disappointment? It seems within the bounds to me. Im open to an example, of course, of something better. If the reality is simply "no dissent will be tolerated", I'd rather have that stated more clearly and it will save us all some grief in the future. I'd be willing to bet a user agreement up front would keep such dissent out of the house, if thats the preference.
What do you want?
A lollipop?
I told you once, and I'll tell you again. We have volunteer moderators here. We're individuals, therefore, we will exercise different judgment on occasion.
I didn't re-post it because you were right. I thought I made that clear when I said I'm more than happy to stir the pot.
I think KOS can take care of himself. Can't he? Or can he? It seems to me that the tutu attitude democrats have had when it comes to fighting back hasn't gotten us anywhere. If Kos is wearing one of those tutus, perhaps he should get out of the way because there are democrats out here who know what's found in the middle of the road.
Yellow stripes and roadkill. That's all that's there, and it's starting to stink.
did you read my last post?
Go back. I got that you didn't agree. You said I was coming to "Bob's house and soiling the carpet."
My question to you and others was, I thought clear. But I'll restate:
a) How was my post "soiling the carpet"?
b) Is there a way you all would prefer in the future I express those opinions, or are such opinions not welcome and potentially subject to removal, regardless of how I put them?
Simple questions, and I'm listening. I'm open to criticism, always, if you can offer any. I'll take it if there is some. If dissent is unwelcome, well thats fine I suppose -- its not my site. Just please let me know. If you've spent much time around the net, its hard not to see my offending post as pretty damn tame. Just looking for insight on where the bar is, even if it varies (or is it truly just up to the mood/personality of the moderator du jour?).
Right or wrong the president
Right or wrong the president of the site felt he needed to say what he did. Really think about that.
Sometimes ‘punch’ is just as important as the thoughts laid out. I would recommend you be sensitive to that as well. (Yes the S word.)
You could have used a single sentence to note that Kos should not be so ridiculed for solidarity sake. You could then have spent 3 paragraphs on why Kos or Bob were correct about an issue. Instead you went on for 3 paragraphs about Bob, including comments about blog envy.
The above was enough, as Necco pointed out, for at least one moderator to view it as he did.
for the record
I dont think Kos should be so ridiculed not for solidarity's sake, but because I think calling him a coward is extremely unfair and needlessly insulting and antagonistic.
Having clarified that, I appreciate your feedback. Understanding that this is the culture here, I understand that this is probably not the place for me to actively participate. It is very disappointing to me but, hey! I still have my years of archived Democrats.com updates and emails that have served me so well over the years (as well as a few emails from Bob when he was getting things going -- I used to work with a friend of his family, so there was an unexpected connection there)!
Have fun you all! Looking forward to the next Election and with any luck a nice weenie roast -- er, impeachment!
In the future, if you have a
In the future, if you have a complaint about a moderator's actions, use the "Contact Us" form provided for that purpose. Your whining about censorship does not apply on a privately-owned blog.
Just as a media editor can pick and choose the letters he/she wants to publish, so can we. We are not obligated to give bandwidth or space to insults or whiners.
And for the record, Bob gave Kos plenty of kudos for his stance on most issues, but rightfully pointed out that he is indeed a coward when it comes to taking on the MSM.
Now, get over it.
Blog envy
You simply don't post an allegation like that against the owner of the site, and expect that people are not going to tell you that you've soiled the place.
I understand perfectly what Bob is stating and I agree with it. We've spent more than 12 long years blending in with republican woodwork because the hateful wing of the GOP has convinced us that fighting back is ugly - even as they had mouthpieces like Coulter and rags like the Spectator.
Guess what? It ain't working!
There is right and there is wrong. If the POTUS has misled us into war and if the GOP is corrupt, there should be impeachment proceedings. That's how our Constitution is written.
If heeding the Constitution is controversial, then I guess we're just controversial here. IF KOS wants to sugarcoat everything and act like we're in Chocolate Land, that's fine. He just needs to get out of the way because the sweeper is coming through for the roadkill.
I have to go to work now. Those heating bills have to be paid.
And here's what you posted
I'm not going to put the post back because I didn't remove it, but I'm more than happy to stir the pot and re-post it myself. If Bob wants to answer you he will. If he doesn't...well, he won't.
Way over the Top?
LoL!
I posted my 2nd post after Veritas2020 proposed we "get the 'Scoop' on the Kos."
The purpose of the 2nd post was to narrow down the argument I'm having with Kos.
Just because I called Kos a Koward in the first post doesn't mean I hate the guy, or that I disagree with everything he says.
The opposite is true - I like the guy and agree with the vast majority of what he says.
Our principles are in synch: we both believe in core values of truth, justice, and democracy, which puts us in direct conflict with Republicans and the right, who believe in lies, oppression, and dictatorship. And we both believe that fighting for these principles is not just good Philosophy, but also good Politics. So we both want elected Democrats to become "Aggressive Progressives."
So on the question of impeachment, our disagreement is not one of principle, but one of strategy.
The strategic question is: would Congressional Democrats do better or worse in the 2006 elections if they demand impeachment hearings?
The last poll was in early November - long before the December 15 elections in Iraq, the NSA wiretapping scandal which broke the following week, and the Duke Cunningham/Jack Abramoff/Tom DeLay scandals which are exposing Bush's entire Republican Party as corrupt to the core.
Kos knows how to read polls. We had a solid 53%-42% majority back in November, and the recent news will only increase our majority.
The only reason Democrats in Congress aren't responding to the majority and demanding impeachment is because they are afraid of taking on the White House and their allies in the Corporate Media.
And the only reason Kos isn't urging Democrats to demand impeachment is because he's afraid too. (If he has another reason, I invite him to express it.)
You can't be a blogger if you have a thin skin. I've been blogging for 5 years and I've taken my share of hits, both fair and unfair.
The same applies to Kos - no bloggers are above criticism.
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I'm glad Democrats.com kept you sane for a few years. Our next mission is to impeach Bush, Cheney, and the rest of this criminal gang and restore truth, justice, and democracy in America!
Koward is right...
He's been perfectly willing to sell out women's basic rights as well. He's sold his soul for access. He's nothing but a shill for the DLC and it makes me ill that he gets tapped to speak for the Progressive blogosphere when he's nothing of the kind.
If Kos is not a Koward...then why is he wearing...
a pink tutu to match the ones in the infamous pic at Bartcop?
Dems won't fight...LIBERALS will.
Dems.com v Kos
I read Dems and Kos daily and like Bob I agree with almost everything he says , Kos has done wonders for the party , We are presently in a power position thanks to the likes of Bob and Kos we cannot afford any split within our party at this time to allow a split could well leave an opening for the divisive right wingers to apply their corrupt crowbar tactics to split us further , We have to fight as one , We're leading this fight right now don't let us get hit with an uppercut , Bob and Kos are big boys let them work their differences out !!
