Hillary and Bill Clinton Rock for Obama!

Hillary: "With eyes firmly fixed on the future, and in the spirit of unity with the goal of victory, with faith in our party and our country, let's declare together with one voice right here, right now that Barack Obama is our candidate and he will be our president. I move that Senator Barack Obama of Illinois be selected by this convention by acclamation as the Democratic nominee for president of the United States."

And with that, Barack Obama became the first African American in American history to be chosen as the nominee of a major party. It's impossible to find the words to describe how amazing that is. Watch the video:

Bill: "Barack Obama is ready to lead America and restore American leadership in the world. Barack Obama is ready to be president of the United States."

What a night!!!

The Democratic Convention Has Been Amazing!

I'm so overwhelmed with the reality of the success of the Democratic Convention it's hard to think! As a former Senator Clinton for President supporter, I couldn't let go of the idea she needs to be President of the country. I've wanted that to happen since the 90's. Little did I realize, the world was moving forward while I was standing still.

As I visited my 79 year old mom we watched an Obama interview on CNN. She had her apprehension about him and I was the one pushing her to watch this interview. As she watched him speak, she became more intense and listened to what he said. She kept nodding her head and then told me he seems like a person raised in the right way for what this country needs right now.

I then realized I was thinking about the campaign in the wrong way. I wanted Hillary Clinton to be President because of her and how things were in the 90's. I realized Senator Obama had what it takes for our current world issues and he was very inspirational to get people on the right track again.

When Senator Obama called me last fall and asked me to help his campaign, I said no, absolutely not. He then said, "when it came time to vote I have to vote for the RIGHT candidate". I had no idea what he meant. But as I visited my mom that day and we watched his interview in the school library, I knew what he meant.

Senator Obama is the RIGHT candidate and I can't say that enough!

I've repeated this story a couple of times here and I'm apologetic for that, but I think it's important to realize the strength to what he said to me. He KNEW he was the right one for the job a year (or two) ahead of time! He knew in his heart he could do it. He had the people, the focus, the gadgets, the high technology, the leadership to get it done!

And to think of the convention changing over to the Mile High stadium tomorrow to accomodate thousands more people is even more overwhelming! I'm amazed!

I'm so totally amazed with the Clintons and the Bidens also! It's hard to imagine it is real.

A Part of History

I had been a supporter of Obama from the beginning of the campaign. However, Hillary Clinton was an intelligent, capable, and worthy oppponent. In fact, as the campaign progressed I began to feel sorry that one of them would eventualy have to lose. Democrats were blessed to have two top knotch contenders. Bill and Hillary Clinton proved by their convention speeches that they remain a class act. Please don't despair, just like Obama WILL become the first black President, we will, some soon day, have a woman President. For now let's just, "Rock With Barack!!"
